Crescent Surgery is moving

From 1 December 2019, Crescent Surgery in Boscombe will be moving to a new premises a short walk away from the existing site and adjacent to Providence Surgery on Walpole Road.

All staff and clinicians will be moving to the new location, and patients that previously attended Crescent Surgery do not need to do anything to continue to receive their normal services.

Dr Ni’Man said “For some time we have been operating as a branch surgery of nearby Providence Surgery in order to increase our resilience in the face of ever-increasing demands on general practice and to ensure we can provide our patients with the services they need. Consolidating both surgeries on a single site will further safeguard the services we both provide and remove the barriers brought about by being on different premises. It will secure the future of NHS Primary Care Services in Boscombe for patients and staff.” The new site will be refurbished to a high standard prior to the move and will be large enough to accommodate all patients. There will be one entrance, waiting room and reception desk for all patients, and an internal doorway in the reception/waiting room will be used to connect both premises.

From 1 December the surgery will also have a new name ‘Crescent Providence Surgery’. This will provide clarity that patients will have continuation of the same clinical services provided by the same staff when they move; and that all patients will be able to receive and access the same services and care.

To further unify the services we manage and provide, the weekend NHS Boscombe & Springbourne Walk-in service and the South Coast Medical Group extended hours service will also move to 12-14 Walpole road from 23rd November. There will be no major changes to the way the service is run, with all administration and clinical staff being retained. You can find more information on the website

Information has been made available on both surgery websites ( and until the 29th November 2019. From the 1st December the individual surgery websites will be closed and/or redirected to where we will continue to keep patients informed.

Dr Ni’Man added ‘We recognise that some patients may have concerns about the move and invite them to speak to a member of the practice staff who would be happy to answer their questions.”
